Hi, I’m Charlie Blue! I’m a UX Researcher and Service Designer with 4+ years of experience.

I’m a recent graduate of the University of Washington’s Master’s in Human-Computer Interaction + Design program. I'm currently employed as a UX Researcher & Designer at the University of Colorado. My research and design practice is informed by my work as a Program Manager at Microsoft and my B.S. in Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon.

My Work

About Me

I'm Charlie Blue (they/them), a UX Researcher & Service Designer based in Seattle.

I’m a UX Researcher at the University of Colorado’s Digital Identity Lab, where I conduct research and lead design efforts on supporting metastatic cancer patients to coordinate end-of-life plans for their online accounts.

I have a background in cybersecurity and a passion for health tech that supports holistic wellbeing, especially related to end-of-life care.

My perspective as a technologist is multi-faceted, centered on collaboration and facilitation. I leverage my community-engaged research to make space for the nuance in people’s stories, my PM experience to frame opportunities by questioning norms, and my technical skills to build new possibilities.

Outside of work, I love to explore Seattle by going on long bike rides with my partner, and then recover from those bike rides by snuggling our cat and making heart-warming meals from Bryant Terry’s Vegetable Kingdom cookbook.
